Immediately understood my perspective on key issues
David handled my divorce case. I’m sure it was not as completely contentious as some divorces, but it certainly wasn’t expeditious or easy either. It was made difficult by delays in my spouse providing discovery documents, and by her eventually providing full sets of documents only upon repeated requests. My spouse also felt that she should “get everything.” One of the things that was great about David was that he immediately understood my perspective on key issues, and was able to articulate and frame my positions and strategy accordingly in completely convincing fashion. David was a complete advocate for me, I always felt like he was 100% on my side. At the same time, he was able to caution me and provide a realistic perspective when talking about how the court might or might not view something. So he was very strong in giving me reality checks, and letting me know when and how the court might or might not be agreeable with my perspective. David was ready to go to court or to work out a settlement, whichever was in my best interests. He was willing to go either way depending on my preference, and he did a great job in counselling me on the pros and cons. In the end, my spouse and I settled before going to court. It was not an entirely happy settlement for either of us given how strongly we both felt, but it was definitely the best thing to do, and the terms were a lot less expensive than a court battle. The thing that was best about David throughout the whole process was his responsiveness, his being 100% an advocate for me, and his wise counselling about options and strategy at every turn. David was also very fair in his time and pricing. His per-hour rate was competitive with others, and I never once felt like he was spending time just to be “running up a bill.”
